Mare Life Vest

Mare Life Vest is a conceptual luxury flotation vest designed for Pucci, exploring what sports equipment can become when approached with the craftsmanship, aesthetic discipline, and creative ambition of a high fashion house. The project applies luxury design principles to a traditionally utilitarian category in order to understand what the highest level of design could look like when translated into performance equipment.
The core question driving the project is simple. What happens when sports gear is designed with the same intentionality as luxury fashion. Most performance flotation devices prioritize function at the expense of form, resulting in products that feel visually heavy and emotionally disconnected from the wearer. Mare Life Vest challenges this norm by treating safety equipment as a sculptural garment and a brand expression rather than a purely technical object.
The vest is defined by a refined, streamlined silhouette that integrates buoyancy directly into its structure, allowing the form to remain elegant and balanced on the body. Every seam, proportion, and surface is deliberately considered, ensuring the vest feels confident and composed both in and out of the water. Function is not concealed but thoughtfully integrated, allowing performance requirements to coexist with a clean, elevated aesthetic.
Graphic language is drawn from Pucci’s iconic visual identity, translating its fluid movement, bold color, and expressive rhythm into a functional surface design. The graphics echo the motion of water and the body in movement, reinforcing the connection between the wearer, the environment, and the brand. Safety features are not hidden but refined, becoming a visible and intentional part of the design language.
Material selection and construction emphasize craftsmanship and precision.
