Red Thread Arirang

"Red Thread Arirang" is a 21-look men's fashion collection born from the meeting of two ancient civilizations — Armenian and Korean — reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.
The initial spark of inspiration came from the album "Arirang" by BTS — a work that deeply moved me with its message of perseverance, the strength of roots, and the pride of cultural identity. It was in that moment of listening that the vision of this collection was born — a bridge between my Armenian heritage and the Korean spirit that resonated so profoundly within me.
Each look is a dialogue. Armenian ornamental embroidery — rich in geometric and floral motifs passed down through generations — is woven into silhouettes inspired by the clean, flowing lines of Korean traditional dress. The collection features a refined combination of natural fabrics, where texture and drape become a language of their own, bridging the tactile traditions of both cultures.
The color palette is anchored in ivory and crimson red: white symbolizing purity and new beginnings in both cultures, while red speaks of passion, strength, and the sacred thread of fate known in Korean tradition as the "red string of destiny". The red thread runs through every look — not only as a visual element but as a narrative symbol connecting past and present, East and West, two peoples united by the same devotion to heritage and identity across centuries.
The collection was created using artificial intelligence as a design tool — not as a replacement for human creativity, but as an instrument to give form to a vision that crosses borders.
